Farhan Akhtar’s 'Don' selected for Berlin Film Festival 


don - sharukh khanMore bad news for remake naysayers; There was much opposition and resentment when producer, Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akthar decided to remake the 1970s Amitabh Bachchan hit ‘Don’. But all those pessimists had to eat their words when Akthar’s Don went on to win both critical and commercial success in India and abroad.

The sleek, cool and high-tech film has since its release been generating a lot of interest. Now it has secured another honour. ‘Don’, starring Shahrukh Khan in a ultra slick role, has been selected to be screened at the Berlin Film Festival’s international forum in February 2007.

After Indian authors dominating German book fairs it seems inevitable that Bollywood would make its presence felt at the film festivals there!
